About The Eko Hospital

Our History

Our History:  The name EKO, was created from the first letters of the 3 founders’ surnames in alphabetical order- “E” for Eneli, “K” for Kuku, and “O” for Obiora.

EKO Hospital Limited succeeded Mercy Specialist Clinic, which had operated successfully between 1977 and 1982.  The hospital, which was established in 1982 as a joint medical practice patterned after a teaching hospital and a medical center was re-registered as a Public Limited Liability Company (PLC) in 1994 and became EKO Corp Plc.

The practice has continuously grown due to the commitment and dedication of the partners and staff, their reputation and customer goodwill.

Today the hospital has three full-fledge branches in Lagos-Ikeja, Surulere and Ikoyi with a healthcare facility and state of the art equipment.

The philosophy of the multi-hospital group is to provide excellent medical care at primary, secondary and tertiary levels. Today, the Hospital has undergone significant transformation and is the only publicly quoted hospital business on the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
